Twenty-five-year old photographer and artist Noell Oszvald creates striking and penetrating self-portraits. You rarely see her face or any emotions on display in her black and white images. The main things to focus on are the composition, the shapes and the physical contents in general. Colour, in the opinion of Oszvald, would simply distract the viewer from these important aspects.
’I never inform the viewer what he or she should see in my photos. That’s why I don’t write any descriptions or explanations for them. Let my work speak for itself and everyone is free to see what they want, something of their own, in them. It’s always interesting to read what thoughts my work conjured up in people’s minds,’ she says.
It is indeed true — you see something connected with your own thoughts and life in these images. What did you see?
