Smartphone users BEWARE

Today I am going to talk about how your personal data on your smartphone can be used against you or how can it be collected remotely without your knowledge.
It is not a secret that Smartphone applications have access to tons of our personal information when granted permissions while installing apps. Some apps can read, edit, send, receive contacts , texts, images, email account information, your pictures, videos, track your physical location ETC.
One of the method used today , especailly to harrass young females is :
Some unknown number will call you pretending to be some officer in a governament agency , He will provide you with your name , work location and other details as per their homework .
Next they will ask you to confirm the information and will politely ask that we are sending you a code, receive it , accept it and your information will be updated in the Governament agency’s database.
Now here is the point, They will send you a code via Viber , Whatsapp, Wechat, Sms Message any platform . When you accept it, or Click on the provided link It grant them access to your personal Data , such as your phone camera pictures, albums, whatsapp pictures, viber, facebook , anything they want can be extracted from your phone using Trojans.
The person can easily transfer all of your data without your kowledge and might use it against you .
How to avoid this :
1: Make sure you do not distribute your phone number to everyone.
2: Have two phones, One a smartphone for your very personal and very trustworthy contacts, The other an old phone like the Nokia 1100 for everyone else.
3: Do not keep your images / videos in your phone if you do not need them. Delete the un needed data as much as you can.
4: Never accept any calls from unknown numbers, or even if it is important to accept, never ever accept any codes, confirmations, click on links, etc.
5: If someone calls you , Tell them that Thank you for your time but i will update my information by going to the office myself, and hang up the phone, add that number into your block list and never reply to any message / calls/
6: Spread the awareness, Especially to those who are in working class, Please stay safe and Stay calm.
