In the United States, almost 1 million people have been recorded to have cancer each year. Cancer is a systematic disease which includes several causes such as poor diet, toxin exposure, nutrient deficiencies, genetics etc. In simple words, it is an uncontrolled division of cells in any part of the body.

But the good news is now it can be treated quite effectively with medical treatments like chemotherapy which are quite painful and other less painful ways such as improving the nutrition. Yes, a better nutrition can really be of great help and avoiding the foods that are known to cause cancer. A daily consumption of 200 micrograms of selenium (that much in two unshelled Brazil nuts) has resulted in 63% fewer prostate tumors, 58% fewer colorectal cancers, 48% fewer lung malignancies, and a 39% overall decline in deaths occurring due to cancer.

Another simple-super habit of reducing the chances of cancer is using the citrus fruits on daily basis. It cuts the risks of developing mouth, throat and stomach cancer by half. Also, it reduces the risks of esophageal cancer. You can either take a fresh lemonade or use citrus fruits as such.

 

Blueberries:

Blueberries are super-excellent in their antioxidant power which neutralizes free radicals which are highly reactive compounds and thus damage healthy cells. Free radicals are quite a potential source of causing cancer. They damage the healthy cells and leads to various diseases including cancer. Daily half a cup of blueberries is a good source of providing antioxidant power.

Well, according to an Australian researcher people who ate four or more servings of fish per week are less likely to develop the blood cancers such as leukemia, myeloma, and Hodgkin lymphomas. Also eating fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, halibut is known to reduce the risks of endometrial cancer in women. Though you don’t like fish much there are various other rich sources of omega-3 too you can opt for.

 

Kiwifruit:

Kiwi is a rich, tiny fruit that contains all the nutrients that can fight cancer quite well such as vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein, and copper. You can either eat it raw or rub on the meat as a tenderizer. Well, it can serve in many ways and yet known to be a hand-grenade against cancer.

 

Scallions:

A diet rich in onions may reduce the risks of developing prostate cancer by 50%. As for most of the things the effects are strongest when eaten raw or lightly cooked instead of microwaving. For a milder taste, you can try scallions, Vidalia onions, shallots or chives.

According to a huge study published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, women who drink at least two cups of black tea on daily basis have 32% less risk of ovarian cancer as compared to those who drink a cup or no black tea at all. The effect may be due to certain flavonoids that serve as antioxidants in black tea. Though the study did not include other types of tea.

These are many other natural products that also prevent cancer one way or another such as avocado, apple, bean sprouts, bran, cabbage, carrots, cherries, coffee etc. All you need to do is to catch on all the healthy food items and try to prevent things that may evoke a chance of cancer.
