5 Ways To Be Healthier

5 Ways To Be Healthier

With so many advertisements and health experts online telling you how to become healthier, you’re probably conflicted. But leading a healthy life doesn’t need to be complicated at all. You just need to follow these five simple ways

1)     Learn to slow down

You might have been taught to keep going and don’t stop til you make it. Well, this sort of behaviour and motivation can lead to burnout and exhaustion. What you need to do is take breaks after long hours of working. Not only does it have significant benefits, but even short breaks can lower stress. Try going out for a walk, having a snack or just meditating. Meditating for even a minute or two can help you refresh and refocus your productivity

2)     Good posture

Bad posture might not seem much, but it can have awful effects in the long run. First of all, it damages your spine directly and your ligaments and muscles indirectly. It might take some to consciously sit straight and walk with your shoulder erect, but you’ll eventually build the habit. This is especially important to prevent kyphosis, which causes an abnormal curvature of the spine. You can add a few lower back stretches and some yoga to your morning routine so that you wake up and remember to straighten your back.

3)     Don’t pass on your beauty sleep

Your sleep isn’t just for beauty, but also for essential processes in the brain. Memory consolidation takes place usually when you’re in a deep sleep. And that can only happen if you get 7 to 9 hours of sleep so you can go through the stages of deep sleep. Other than that, don’t compromise on the quality of your sleep. Invest in a matter that matches your sleeping style. You can also get accessories like a white noise machine or an essential oil dispenser to set the mood for a night’s perfect sleep.

4)     Hydrate

Water makes up 60% of our bodies and it’s essential for literally every process in the body. From the lubrication of joints to regulating temperature and even respiration. So it’s no surprise that you need an average of about eight 8 ounces’ glasses of water. You don’t have to drink just water. You can incorporate fruits that have a high water content such as watermelonzx and cucumbers too! Not only will this make you healthy but also avoid a lot of skin problems.

5)     Take care of your mental health

Every so often, we get so indulged in the minor tasks of life that we forget to take care of our minds. If you’re going through something especially an emotional hurdle which you can’t seem to get over, don’t hesitate to reach out to a mental health professional. You can even try therapy if you think it might help you. There is absolutely no shame in taking your mental health into consideration

It might be overwhelming to start a healthy lifestyle but it all starts with one step. Choose an aspect of your life and try to work on it first. When you get used to that change, move on to bigger aspects and slowly, you’ll have a long life to enjoy!

Until Next Time,
